Mailbox encryption with Zeyple
Unfortunately, end-to-end encryption for mail (e.g. with GnuPG) is still rather uncommon. By default, most mails are sent unencrypted and thus are readable for admins and malicious third parties that have access to the server systems or hackers that have compromised the servers. Therefore we consider encryption technologies that further protect mail from unwarranted accesses to be critical and actively push them.
But those technologies such as Mailcrypt have limitations. Any server-side encryption can also be defeated on the server. Theoretically server admin - and anybody with access to the server eg hackers - could log your password when you log in and use it to read your encrypted mails.
Also Mailcrypt etc has very complicated dependencies that are very hard to set up.
Zeyple solves all the problems. It is very easy to install, configure and maintain.
Users only give server or Zeyple public key, but not private key. And Zeyple encrypt everything with user public key so that only users, but no others can decrypt the content.
Users can use email client or mailvelope to read emails.
Of course Zeyple does not have to be enabled by default. but let users to decide if they want to enable Zeyple, if they are comfortable with key management
